Tasty Rice: Recipes from Kathleen's Kitchen

Welcome to Tasty Rice, a digital test kitchen by Kathleen Rice! This blog will house my culinary experiments, and occasionally the culinary experiments of my husband, the grill master, and my adult children, my apprentices.

Why should you trust my recipes?

I've been a home cook for over 35 years, and in those years I have learned to please my foodie husband and children of all ages. I have read recipes from hundreds of books and countless magazines. I have taken cooking classes formally from a variety of instructors, and have watched, replicated, and refined the recipes of some of the best cooks among my family and friends.

What kind of cuisine can I expect to find on this blog?

The flavors of I use vary widely because of my life experiences; I was raised in a German-Lutheran community in the Midwest, have lived in Texas for most of my adult life, and spent two years living in Taiwan. Most of my food can be described as having a bit of a high-end Texas twist. For example, my deviled eggs are a classic recipe, but I like to serve them with a little fresh pepper, bacon, and sometimes even a jalapeño cream sauce.
